Minister Babalanda In The Corruption Spotlight As Museveni Reveals Why He Lost In Kampala

Minister for presidency Milly Babalanda is on the spotlight of corruption after president Museveni revealed that his votes were stolen in Kampala because of failure to facilitate polling agents who would have guarded Museveni’s votes jealously.

While meeting NRM LC 1 chairpersons from Kampala at the Kololo independence grounds, president Museveni highlighted why he terribly lost in Kampala and the surrounding areas of Buganda.

“I had heard about the rigging of votes in Kampala and even my votes were changed, that came from the ONC which was supposed to appoint some agents per village and fight those ways i don’t know what happened”- Museveni revealed

The Office of the National Chairperson (ONC) is Museveni’s party in Kyambogo which co-ordinates his supporters across the country. By the time we went to the 2021 General elections, ONC was under the leadership of now Minister for presidency Milly Babalanda, Kampala Minister Minsa Kabanda among others including now Deputy Presidential Press Secretary Kirunda Faruk.

The revelation by Museveni draws minister Babalanda at the dark wall of corruption, she’s currently embroiled in Shs7bn scandal at the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC). She was also accused of soliciting bribes amounting to Shs5m from each of those who were appointed as RDCs in 2021.
