The country continues to grieve the death of the speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah who died on Sunday 20th March 2022, his friends and family have converged for prayers to celebrate his life at his home in Muyenga.
Today 23rd March was Oulanyah’s 57th birthday, it was a somber mood at his home when leaders, friends and his family members held prayers led by Arch Bishop Dr. Samuel Steven Kazimba Mugalu who revealed to the congregants that the late speaker had invited him for his birth day party before the Lord called him.

The scramble to replace him in parliament is under way as the NRM CEC has reportedly endorsed Anita Among to replace her fallen boss. She will faceoff with other candidates from the opposition and those from NRM who are not happy with their party decision.
Oulanyah’s body is said to have been handed over to the Ugandan embassy in the US and is set to be repatriated in the coming days for burial.
