President Museveni while meeting the NRM village chairpersons in Kampala at the Kololo independence grounds has revealed that his votes were stolen in Kampala something that affects his numbers in the 2021 general elections which he won with 58% against NUP boss Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
Accrding to Museveni the move was a result of non payment which arose from swindling of money meant for his polling agents by top bosses at his Kyambogo-based Office of the National Chairperson which was headed by now Minister for presidency Milly Babalanda.
“I had heard about the rigging of votes in Kampala and even my votes were changed, That came from the ONC which was supposed to appoint some agents per village and fight those ways but i don not know what happened Museveni revealed before inviting ONC boss to throw highlights.

Not happy with the activities at the ONC in Kyambogo in the runner-up to the 2021 General Elections, Museveni has called on the new bosses at his office in Kyambogo to sort the mess such that in future his votes don’t disappear in Kampala like they did in 2021.
Explaining the mess, ONC’s new boss Hajidah Namyalo Uzeiye who has been on country wide tours endorsing Museveni’s 2026 candidacy dubbed “Jajja Tova Ku Main” attributed the loss in Kampala to corruption of the former bosses.
“When we assumed office, we tried to get reports from the then administration and those who were in charge of vote protection agents. The evidence reports informed us that, the agents were not paid and this is the reason for the low performance in Kampala and other parts of the country where we declined in performance”-She noted.
Opposition have always accused president Museveni of rigging their votes, notably of these is four time presidential candidate Dr Kiiza Besigye and Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who was the main face of opposition in the 2021 general elections.
