It was done to him and his supporters during the highly contested 2021 general election campaigns, the same done on election day when his agents were picked one by one and Declaration forms grabbed from them, his supporters would later be picked randomly from their homes aboard the famous drone vehicles that continue to take them to the dark confines of torture.

Bobi Wine has always has always issued tough warnings against the Museveni regime regarding the brutality, arrests and torture meted on his, his immediate circles and supporters across the country. Using the Public Order Management Act 2013 and some sections in the Penal Code, police is ever head to head with opposition politicians unlike those from NRM who don’t even need police clearance to stage rallies.

While reacting to Enanga’s statement, NUP spokesperson and Nakawa East legislator Joel Ssenyonyi says even when they follow the law and notify police about their gatherings, police is ever on the negative side and never allows them to do their mobilization activities as a party.

Afande Ogwang Arrests Nattabi Margret By Her Neck

He accused of double standards of allowing NRM politicians enjoy the political space without any hindrance including the first son who is a serving army officer but carrying out political mobilization rallies ahead of the 2026 general elections where he wants to ascend to his father’s throne.

Last week while doing their mobilization campaigns dubbed ‘Kuunga Uganda’ NUP leaders where roughed up in the western district of Kyenjojo over what police termed as unlawful assembly. Several of them including Bobi Wine’s elder brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu alias Chairman Nyanzi was injured during the scuffle.

Days later NUP’s Makerere University candidate who was disqualified Margret Nattabi while addressing the media along side some students at Emerald Hotel was also brutally arrested by a male police officer only identified as Ogwang.

Yesterday while stopping peaceful protesting Medical students, police pepper sprayed them and this didn’t spare journalists who were covering the events of the day. Much as Afande Ogwal was forced to apologize to the scribes, brutality on peaceful and unarmed Ugandans remains a norm by the Uganda police.

This is where the order to spray people came from. "Spray them. You bring it fully packed." 📷

In a strong worded veiled message to the Museveni regime, the NUP boss has lashed at the regime for the police brutality in the hands of what the people he labeled thugs in Uniform. Bobi Wine has hope that one day, the dark days will one day come to an end.

“But how can this become so normal in our country? Daily, we’re treated to these criminal actions by thugs in uniform! Ordinarily, these are incidents that jolt citizens into action. I remain hopeful that one of these days, Museveni will press a button that will be his Waterloo”- tweeted Bobi Wine.
