Mzee Lopus Icumar an elder and a resident of Namalu sub county says president museveni needs to intervene by selecting trusted Committee to do fact findings on the projects implemented by ministry of Agriculture in Karamoja to uncover the dealings in there.

“If this is the way government has decided to do work in Karamoja thinking they are looking ways for changing the lives of the people of Karamoja,  its a waste of time”-he notes

According to Mr. Icumar  the work of the ministry of agriculture is never completed noting about two projects that have remained incomplete in Nakapiripirit district among which include the animal holding grounds in Namalu sub county Nakapiripirit district and a Cattle market in Lemusui in Nakapiripirit district which all remain abandoned.

Paul Lodio another elder says Karamoja has remained the eating ground where people come,  eat and go in the name of developing the region. Lodio says instead MAAIF contributes to poverty in the region because the officials lack secerity

Jino Meri the chairperson of Kaabong district also says the work by the ministry of agriculture in Karamoja has never pleased them. Mer says he know one of the sites that the ministry of agriculture has failed to complete four years now down the road.

“This project worth Shs7billion under resilient project is located in Morungole in Kaabong, they have failed to be completed and this is disgusting yet they are running for new projects”-he notes

Moses Lomer a youth from Kotido district says ministry of agriculture should concentrate on timely distribution of seeds and leave issues of construction to another department.
